20th anniversary of the Aircraft Squadron of 93rd Air Force Base

Aircraft Squadron of the 93rd Air Base of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence marked its 20th anniversary since the establishment.
The ceremony was attended by former commanders and unit members, and squadron commander, Major Mario Plesa recalled on the historical development of the Squadron, which is the successor of the first aircraft squadron formed in the Zadar area on 6 November 1991. Major Plesa also said that today Aircraft Squadron was unit which selects and provides the fundamental basis of the pilots training, and that the achieved level of development and success of the squadron was result of high motivation, responsibility, training and commitment of all its members. Major Plesa especially thanked all the previous commanders and unit members for personal involvement in the last two decades.

The Squadron since its establishment has achieved more than 63 000 flight hours, while the number of flight hours on the Pilatus PC-9 were close to 50 000 hours. In addition to training of pilots, the Squadron performs tasks for the Coast Guard and provides air support to the Army and Navy in the training and inter-service exercises.
