Training for mine explosives
The instructors of Special Operations Battalion conducted training on work with mine explosives (MESID), from 2 November to 9 December 2011, in the barracks "Drgomalj" in Delnice, in "Josip Jovic" in Udbina, and at the military installation "Eugen Kvaternik" near Slunj.
The training program is based on the CAF training doctrine and in accordance with the standards for the purpose of training members of the Special Operations Battalion to handle and work with mine - explosive devices and to successfully conduct counter-terrorism activities.
The training program covers explosives and mines, theoretical and practical training in handling and use of means of communication, special forces tactics, topography, first aid, etc.
To access the training, each candidate must meet specific criteria, including medical and psychological, physical fitness and written exams.
Through a six-week training students are trained to perform tasks related to the handling of mine – explosive device, demolition of the various elements with explosives, making and passing through minefield, etc.
