CAF FF Task Force involved in fire extinguishing in border region with Bosnia
Air Force of the CAF Fire fighting (FF) Task Force, composed of four Canadairs and three Air Tractors participated on August 24 in a fire extinguishing in the border area with Bosnia and Herzegovina, near the town of Uniste.
The first aircraft Air Tractor AT-802 A (Fire Boss) was engaged about 10.25 am, when a fire crossed Croatian border with Bosnia and Herzegovina, where it released 30 tons of water, while the other Air Tractor AT-802 F was deployed for fire reconnaissance. They were joined later with another Air Tractor and four Canadairs.
During the fire extinguishing, the specified aircraft dropped a total of 282 tons of water in 47 throws.
Affected area is about 80 hectares of grass and low vegetation in the Republic of Croatia.
