1st Lt. Novković joins "Wings of Storm"

1st Lieutenant Marko Novković on 5 March 2019 joined the Wings of Storm Aerobatic Group of the Croatian Air Force as 2nd right wing.

1st Lt Novković is a flight instructor and demo-pilot of Pilatus PC-9M aircraft and was Team Commentator in the display season 2018. He completed his flight training (which comprised the elements of the Wings of Storm's disolay sequence)  in the Fixed Wing Squadron of the 93rd Air Base.

During the 30-flight training the Team members practiced the specific flying elements that they will be performing with the new member in the  display season 2019.

1st Lieutenant Novković is the youngest member of the present "Wings of Storm" (born  in Melbourne, Australia in 1989, in 2013 he earned degree in aeronautics and lives in Zadar. He has so far performed 600 flying hours. 

"The love of my homeland brought me to Croatia from Australia, and this is a memorable day for me to join the Croatian national flight team. I am honoured and will do my best to justify the trust and contribute to the successes of the "Wings of Storm".

With the new member in the Team Wings of Storm will begin practicing for the season 2019 season in 6-pilot composition (Captain Darko Belančić as Team Leader, Major Ivan Anđić  as1st Wing, Captain Goran Grgić as 1st Right Wing  and Major Zvonimir Mravunac as Slot, 1st Lt. Denis Živaljić as 2nd Left Wing and 1st Lt. Marko Novković as 2nd Right Wing).

Having completed the test flight in the 4-aircraft formation 1st Lt. Novkovic was presented with the Team's badge and the characteristic red overalls by the Team Leader Captain Darko Belančić.

Lt. Col. Damir Barišić will remain the Team's advisor, while 2nd Danijel Rigo – flight instructor in the Fixed Wing Squadron – has taken over the duty of  team commentator.
 
"Wings of Storm" were established on the 10th anniversary of the Operation "Storm" (5th August  2005) ahd have performed d 187 displays (135 at home and 52 abroad).
