Minister Vukelic sent a condolence telegram to Minister Klich

Upon the tragic plane crash in which Polish President Lech Kaczynski and a large number of officials including a number of officials from the defence sector of the Polish Republic lost their lives, Minister of Defence Branko Vukelic has sent a condolence telegram to Polish Minister of National Defence Bogdan Klich.

19th anniversary of Plitvice action commemorated

The 19th anniversary of the death of Josip Jovic, the first victim of the Homeland War and marking of "Plitvice" action was commemorated by laying wreaths at the monument in the Plitvice Lakes on Wednesday, March 31. Besides Jovic's family members, the first victim in the war was given honour by the state delegations, representatives of county and local authorities, and veterans' associations.

Defence Minister Branko Vukelic visited on Thursday, March 18, Captain Marko Pavkovic, who has been undergoing treatment at the Clinical Hospital Centre (KBC) in Zagreb. Captain was injured in a severe car accident that took place on Wednesday, March 17, about 00:10 am in Zagreb, immediately after his return from the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan.

MOD and Ministry of Interior signed Agreement on Cooperation

Minister of Defence and Minister of Interior (MOI), Branko Vukelic and Tomislav Karamarko signed on Friday, March 12, in the Defence Ministry, the Agreement on Cooperation between the two ministries.

The Republic of Croatia participate in a NATO political-military decision-making crisis management exercises – CMX 09, which is due from 4th to 10th of March 2010. After CMX 05 and CMX 08 this is the third NATO Crisis Management Exercise - CMX, in which Croatia will participate for the first time as a full member of NATO. It is a simulation exercise that will be conducted on the basis of fictitious scenario and consultation between NATO members and partner countries, and there will be no actual military forces deployed in the theatre.
