Minister Krstičević meets with Lithuanian Defence Minister

The Croatian Deputy Prime  Minister and Defence Minister Damir Krstičević met with the Lithuanian counterpart   Raimunds Karoblis in Vilnius on 29 December  2017.

The two sides affirmed the good bilateral co-operation,which can be  expanded as well , particularly in the domain of defence industry,  the ROLE 2 capability, cyber safety, maritime operations and the like.

Minister Krstičević expressed saisfaction over the prospects of promoted bilateral co-operation of the two defence industries. The Croatian soldiers in NATO eFP mission in Lithuania are equipped entirely with the products made in Croatia, promoting its industry.

The engagement of the Croatian soldiers in the mission is a statement of alliance and partnership with Lithuania and other baltic states.

Minister Krstičević extended the invitation to Minister Karoblis for an official visit to Croatia (in the course of 2018) and appreciation for solidarity and assistance provided with the transport of the deceased member of the Croatian Contingent.
Minister Karoblis welcomed Minister Krstičević and the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, General  Mirko Šundov to Lithuania and said he was glad to have the opportunity to accompany them to in a visit to the Croatian and Lithuanian troops in Rukla. The Lithuanian Minister also expressed appreciation to Croatia for the solidarity demonstrated by the participation in the eFP Mission .
The ministers exchanged views on the security challenges and situation in Europe and at the global level  and  agreed on the necessity to timely exchange the information. Following the meeting they visited the members of the Croatian Contingent, stationed in the barracks at Rukla.

In addition to joint engagement in eFP  mission in Lithuania, the Croatian and Lithuanian soldiers take part in Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan and in KFOR in Kosovo.
