{"id":103996,"date":"2019-07-12T12:19:21","date_gmt":"2019-07-12T10:19:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.morh.hr\/?p=103996"},"modified":"2020-12-10T11:05:34","modified_gmt":"2020-12-10T10:05:34","slug":"croatia-and-portugal-sign-a-memorandum-on-defence-co-operation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.morh.hr\/en\/croatia-and-portugal-sign-a-memorandum-on-defence-co-operation\/","title":{"rendered":"Croatia and Portugal sign a Memorandum on Defence Co-operation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 10 July 2019 the Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Damir Krsti\u010devi\u0107 met with the National Defence Minister of Portugal Jo\u00e3o Gomes Cravinho.<\/p>\n<p>The defence ministers of Croatia and Portugal signed a Memorandum on Defence Co-operation.<\/p>\n<p>Ministers Krsti\u010devi\u0107 and Cravinho praised the first Memorandum of Co-operation setting the legal framework for future co-operation, and outlined the co-operation in several domains (homeland security, co-operation of firefighter squadrons, co-operation of navies and in military education and within the EU).<br \/>\nMinister Krsti\u010devi\u0107 presented the Croatian homeland security system and the firefighting strategy, and Minister stated Portugal&#8217;s interest in benefitting from the Croatian know-how and experience related to the establishment homeland security system.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_103999\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-103999\" style=\"width: 868px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-103999\" src=\"https:\/\/www.morh.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ministar_krsticevic_portugal_10072019_t2v-1-1024x724.jpg\" alt=\"Minister Krsti\u010devi\u0107 meets with Portuguese Minister\" width=\"868\" height=\"614\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.morh.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ministar_krsticevic_portugal_10072019_t2v-1-1024x724.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.morh.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ministar_krsticevic_portugal_10072019_t2v-1-300x212.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.morh.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ministar_krsticevic_portugal_10072019_t2v-1-768x543.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.morh.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ministar_krsticevic_portugal_10072019_t2v-1.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 868px) 100vw, 868px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-103999\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Minister Krsti\u010devi\u0107 meets with Portuguese Minister &#8211; Foto: MORH<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;Croatia has adopted a National Security Strategy and established the homeland security system to efficiently cope with disasters and security challenges, and we are ready to pass on our experiences on our Portuguese colleagues&#8221;, said Minister Krsti\u010devi\u0107.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Portugal and Croatia have similar climates and experiences with firefighting.
