The two sides used the opportunity to review the global security and political situation; Minister Buljevi\u0107 stated the Croatian views on the main security threats faced by the democratic world and emphasised the indispensable role of the United States of America in engineering the responses.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
Regarding the bilateral co-operation, Minister Buljevi\u0107 reminded that the United States of America were Croatia’s strategic partner and Ally, which has over the past 20 years significantly contributed to the development of the Croatian defence capabilities. The two countries have developed most productive co-operation in the domains of education and training, equipment and modernisation of the Croatian Armed Forces, and in joint contribution to the stability and international security, which has been recognised as the most visible and concrete examplification of the excellent bilateral relations in general. <\/p>\n
Governer Dayton and General Nash emphasised the importance of the partnership between Minnesota and the Republic of Croatia and of the20-year long military co-operation between the Croatian Armed Forces and the Minnesota National Guard, which brought about joint participation in ISAF and other functional areas. Governor Dayton and Minister Buljevi\u0107 reiterated the commitment to continued co-operation to be further expanded, bilaterally and within the U.S. Adriatic Charter, aimed at assisting the aspirant countries of the region with their accession processes to NATO and the EU.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
The U.S. delegation, headed by the Governer of Minnesota, Mark Dayton,was received by the President of the Republic of Croatia as the Supreme Commander of the Croatian Armed Forces, honouring the 20th anniversary of the bilateral military co-operation with Minnesota.<\/p>\n
