The Croatian Croatian Military Sports Team was composed of members of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, the Croatian Army, the Support Command, the Croatian Defence Academy “Dr. Franjo Tu\u0111man, the Honorary Battalion, the Croatian Navy and the Military Police Regiment, who competed in archery (25 m pistol Military Rapid Fire Pistol) and in 400m, 800m, 1000m and marathon races.<\/p>\n

The Croatian Armed Forces representatives, headed by Lieutenant Colonel Andrija Kri\u017eani\u0107, were the Captain of the shooting team Lieutenant Colonel Tihomir Gali\u0107, and the competitors Captain \u017deljko Posavec, Sergeant First Class Vatroslav Drmi\u0107 and 1st Sergeant Tihomir Peri\u0161i\u0107 (men’s competitions) and Lieutenant (N) Ana Karaman, 1st Lieutenant Katarina Neki\u0107 and 1st Sergeant Marijana \u0160pirelja (women’s competitions).<\/p>\n

Captain Posavec and Nadnarednik Drmi\u0107 reached the finals in individual competitions, and the Croatian archery team ranked 27th.<\/p>\n

The track-and-field competitors team included Captain Domagoj Bagari\u0107 (team coach), Captain Ivan Geren\u010dir, Sergeant First Class Danijel Kataleni\u0107, Corporal Nikola \u0160poljar, Private Kristijan Su\u0161ilovi\u0107 and cadet Tajana \u017didov (ranking 15th in the 400-m race).<\/p>\n

In the marathon race Corporal \u0160poljar ranked 67th, Sergeant First Class Kataleni\u0107 ranked 73rd and Captain Geren\u010dir 78th respectively.<\/p>\n

The Croatian marathon team ranked 16th in a competition dominated by professional athletes.<\/p>\n

Some 8,000 athletes from 109 member countries of the International Military Sports Council (CISM) took part in the World Military Games , in 32 sport disciplines, with a total of 1,021 medals won.<\/p>\n

The Chinese athletes have won the most medals (239 medals, 133 gold), followed by Russia (161 medals, Brazil (88 medals), France (57 medals ) and Poland (60 medals).<\/p>\n[ngg src=”galleries” ids=”3757″ display=”basic_thumbnail” thumbnail_crop=”0″]\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
