The Group arrived to Zemunik with the Aeromacchi MB339, and were welcomed by the \u201cWings of Storm\u201c Team Leader, Lt. Col. Damir Bari\u0161i\u0107.
Following the introduction the pilots of the two aerobatic groups conducted joint preparation followed by the display of manoeuvres from this year’s flying programme of the “Frecce Tricolori”.<\/p>\n
The \u201cFrecce Tricolori\u201c peformed \u201ethe Heart\u201c \u2013 the saluting manoeuvre over the waterfront in Zadar. The official presenter was Liberata D\u00b4aniello commented the programme in the Croatian language too for respect to the audience and to the \u201cWings of Storm\u201c, and Lt.Col. Damir Bari\u0161i\u0107 and 1st Lt. Darko Belan\u010di\u0107 flew aboard the Italian aircraft.
Lt. Col. Bari\u0161i\u0107 expressed the satisfaction of the pilots of the “Wings of Storm\u201c over hosting the colleagues and friends of “Frecce Tricolori”. \u201cBoth groups are enjoying this joint activity.\u00a0 Today 1st Lt Belan\u010di\u0107 and me flew aboard their aircraft and we shall resume in their base at Rivolto in Italy on 4 April. We have become friends at the group and individual levels in attending the international air shows together for years\u201c, said Lt. Col Bari\u0161i\u0107.<\/p>\n
The Group’s Commander Major Mirco Caffelli said it was their first visit to Zadar. \u201cIt is an excellent opportunity for us be here in Zadar and to practice our flying programme for\u00a0 the season 2017, opening on 1 May.\u00a0 Our group performs a number of manoeuvres with ten aircraft and it is eye-catching to watch us flying close to each other. The \u201cBomb\u201c is perhaps the most interesting of them, descending to the ground and break into nine different directions.\u00a0 We have introduced a new manoeuvre \u2013\u201cthe\u00a0 scintilla\u201c (\u201cspark\u201c) which we want to present to the public in Zadar.\u00a0 Unlike\u00a0 the \u201cWings of Storm\u201c we fly on ten jet aircraft.\u00a0 I joined the \u201cFreccie Tricolori\u201c in 2007, which is also since when I have followed the \u201cWings of Storm\u201c, and I have to say that their performances are incredible and stunning”, said Major Caffelli.<\/p>\n
The “Frecce Tricolori” are one of the world’s largest and best known aerobatic groups and has been active for 57 years.
