{"id":6447,"date":"2012-03-19T13:09:36","date_gmt":"2012-03-19T12:09:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.morh.hr\/feast-of-st-joseph-patron-of-the-war-college-comemorated\/"},"modified":"2017-10-08T18:32:03","modified_gmt":"2017-10-08T16:32:03","slug":"feast-of-st-joseph-patron-of-the-war-college-comemorated","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.morh.hr\/en\/feast-of-st-joseph-patron-of-the-war-college-comemorated\/","title":{"rendered":"Feast of St. Joseph, patron of the War College, comemorated"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> The ceremony was attended by the Defence Minister Ante Kotromanovi\u0107, Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Drago Lovri\u0107, Military Academy Acting Director and Commander of the War College, Brigadier General Slaven Zdilar, the first commander of the War College, retired Lieutenant General Franjo Feldi, participants of the current and 14 previous generations, and representatives of local authorities.<\/p>\n<p> Defence Minister Kotromanovi\u0107 with a delegation which included Chief of General Staff, General Lovri\u0107 and commander of the War College General Zdilar laid a wreath in front of the Jela\u010di\u0107 tomb.\u00a0On this occasion, the Minister noted that the ceremony of the War College and coming to Zapre\u0161i\u0107 has a long tradition for 14 years and it should continue.\u00a0He pointed to the importance of the Croatian Military Academy as one of the important segments of the support and development of the Armed Forces as a whole, and the War College, as the highest level of education, where the students acquire knowledge at the strategic level.\u00a0The War College officers are educated to perform some of the most important duties in the Armed Forces.\u00a0&#8220;Be committed to your work and your duties&#8221;, Minister Kotromanovic said.\u00a0He pointed to the international dimension of education in the War College.\u00a0In the 14<sup>th<\/sup> generation, 4 students have been from other countries, and Kotromanovi\u0107 expressed confidence that such cooperation would continue in the future as well.<\/p>\n<p> The commander of the War College Slaven Zdilar said that military training was not only about the adoption of technical knowledge and skills, but it also includes the development of military professionalism and military ethics.\u00a0He noted that Croatia was a country rich in tradition and history, while the army was the place where traditional values \u200b\u200bhave been taken care of and developed.<\/p>\n<p> Mayor of Zapre\u0161i\u0107 \u017deljko Turk wished students of 14<sup>th<\/sup> generation a warm welcome as well.
