{"id":6817,"date":"2012-10-26T13:44:57","date_gmt":"2012-10-26T11:44:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.morh.hr\/conference-on-women-peace-and-security-at-the-hvu\/"},"modified":"2017-10-08T18:32:42","modified_gmt":"2017-10-08T16:32:42","slug":"conference-on-women-peace-and-security-at-the-hvu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.morh.hr\/en\/conference-on-women-peace-and-security-at-the-hvu\/","title":{"rendered":"Conference on women, peace and security at the HVU"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> The Conference was opened by their addresses, by the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusi\u0107, and by the Deputy Minister of Defence Vi\u0161nja Tafra, followed by the address of the Norwegian diplomat Mari Sk\u00e5re, the special representative for women, peace and security of the NATO Secretary General, Anders Fogh Rasmussen.<\/p>\n<p> Exactly 12 years ago, on 31 October 2000, The UN Security Council at its 4213<sup>th<\/sup> session adopted Resolution 1325, the basic document on the impact and consequences of the war on women, but also on women&#8217;s contribution to sustainable peace.<\/p>\n<p> Speaking of Croatian experiences and the role and position of women in security and defence, Deputy Minister of Defence, Vi\u0161nja Tafra noted that this issue should be considered from a broader perspective of the overall role and status that women have in the society.
