The additional Canadair flight training entails acquisition of the expertise, skills and habits necessary to fly the CL-415 during the visual, instrumental and night-time flying respectively. It is conducted in three phases, qualifying the pilots to attain the required flying category, and at its completion the trainees qualify themselves as Canadair co-pilots. Each trainee is to perform 85 flying hours, of which 30% is executed at water surfaces and at fire sites. The status of captain and test pilots requires further training. \u00a0<\/p>\n
The Air Tractor training prepares pilots for safe landing on water surfaces, water intake and correct flying of the AT 802A Fire Boss aircraft for fire fighting, fire reconnaissance and maneuver displaying missions. The training comprises 18 flying weeks \u2013 through the basic, superior and special phase.<\/p>\n

The Fire-Fighting Squadron of the 93 Air Force and Air Defence Base at the \u201eZemunik\u201c Barracks commenced on 22 February 2013 the Canadair CL-415 and Air Tractor AT 802 flight training, preparing the staff indispensable for aerial fire fighting tasks. The flight training succeeded the technical workshop and the theoretical presentation of each aircraft.
