Croatian Army\u00a0 has dispatched 98 members of the 1st\u00a0 Mechanised Battalion (“Sokolovi”) of the Mechanised Guard Brigade, equipped with 11 motor vehicles and one ambulance vehicle to \u017dupanja; they are supported by 50 members of the Air Defence Battalion, with four motor vehicles at their disposal; 20 members of the Engineer Battalion, equipped with 2 field motor vehicles, are moving to the Bosut Barracks in Vinkovci.
– 51 members of the Air Defence Battalion, equipped with six motor vehicles and one ambulance car\u00a0 \u2013 succeded 86 members of the 1st Mechanised Battalion (“Sokolovi”) at Drenovci;
– 47 members of the Training and Doctrine Command, with three amphibious vehicles, three boats, four terrain vehicles and a van \u2013 assigned with cattle recovery in the severely hit areas of Gunja and Ra\u010dinovci
– 35 members of the Engineer\u00a0 Battalion, equipped with the Engineer\u00a0 machines, six motor vehicles and three boats \u2013 aiding the relief efforts in Vrbanja.
\u00a0– 100 members of the “Gromovi” Battalion \u2013 at Posavski Podgajci – filling the sandbags and repairing the embankment;
\u00a0– 85 members of the \u201eTigrovi\u201c and \u201eGromovi\u201c Battalions, equipped with five motor vehicles and one ambulance vehicle \u2013 at Soljani; 10 soldiers patrolled along the embankment during the night. <\/p>\n
Five members of the Engineer Battalion were dispatched to the village of Babina Greda, equipped with a low loader trailer and tipper lorries, loading and delivering the rubble (some 280 m3 ) to the access road to the embankments.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
The Support Command of the Croatian Armed Forces dispatched its 36 members, equipped with 12 motor vehicles (two water tanks and two ambulance vehicles) and three mobile kitchens to Otok, Cerna and Gradi\u0161te. <\/p>\n
Two water tanks were used to supply drinking water to Oku\u010dani yesterday, providing a total of 7000 l of water, and in the \u201eBosut\u201c Barracks in Vinkovci 3500 l of water respectively, the latter delivery was in support to the mobile kitchens in the nearby villages of Cerna, Otok and Gradi\u0161te, which prepared 400. 600 and 600 meals respectively .
The Support Command manages the medical support through its Medical Health Centre, which dispatched two medical and one epidemiological team to the hall in Cerna and the “Bosut” Barracks in Vinkovci. <\/p>\n
One low\u00a0 loader trailer yesterday began transporting pontoon bridge elements from the \u201eKamensko\u201c Barracks in Karlovac to Cerna in the Vinkovci area. <\/p>\n
Likewise, during yesterday two motor vehicles (a 10-ton vehicle and a 5-ton vehicle) delivered hospital beds and mattrasses from Zagreb o Nu\u0161tar, and one 5-motor vehicle delivered baby food and hygiene products from Zagreb to Po\u017eega respectively. <\/p>\n
Croatian Air Force and Air Defence has assigned helicopters and crews to the flood relief efforts in Croatiay and the neighbouring flood-stricken country – Bosnia and Herzegovina . <\/p>\n
A Mi-8 MTV of the Transport Helicopters Squadron of the 93rd Air Force and Air Defence Base continues assisting in Slavonia, where it transported 25 soldiers and other relief personnel between Osijek and \u017dupanja yesterday, 21 May; its overall outcome totals 93 recovered individuals in 13 flying hours,\u00a0 flying from the base in Vinkovci. <\/p>\n
Two Mi-8 MTV helicopters (also of the Transport Helicopter Squadron) have been flying relief tasks in Bosnia and Herzegovina (in the Ora\u0161je area), recovering 11 local residents and 34 tons, and continue helping with the rehabilitation of the embanments. Over the past six\u00a0 days they have performed 169 flights, and transported 261 individuals and 90 tons of different materiel, taking off from the Rajlovac airport near Sarajevo.
