{"id":92726,"date":"2018-12-12T10:56:55","date_gmt":"2018-12-12T09:56:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.morh.hr\/?p=92726"},"modified":"2019-01-16T11:10:53","modified_gmt":"2019-01-16T10:10:53","slug":"the-marking-of-19th-anniversary-of-death-of-president-tudman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.morh.hr\/en\/the-marking-of-19th-anniversary-of-death-of-president-tudman\/","title":{"rendered":"The marking of 19th anniversary of death of President Tu\u0111man"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The ceremony was attended by the family members of President Tu\u0111man alongside the President of Croatia and Supreme Commander of the Croatian Armed Forces in office Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovi\u0107, the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Gordan Jandrokovi\u0107, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenkovi\u0107, the Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Damir Krsti\u010devi\u0107, the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces General Mirko, Deputy Mayor of Zagreb Jelena Pavi\u010di\u0107 Vuki\u010devi\u0107, the Archbishop of Zagreb, Cardinal Josip Bozani\u0107, other senior state officials, representatives of veterans&#8217; associations from the Homeland War and numerous citizens.<\/p>\n<p>The first president of Croatia dared to make his vision of the Croatian future a reality, said&nbsp; President Grabar-Kitarovi\u0107.<br \/>\n&#8220;President Tu\u0111man exposed himself to political and judiciary persecution, knowing that a noble cause took&nbsp; sacrifice.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe key to his success was in his belief that small peoples as Croatians were also entitled to to great ideas and the ability to realise them. As historian President Tu\u0111man was able to read the sign of times knowing that the historic moment had to be seized\u201c, said the President.<br \/>\nAs a historian, he recognized the signs of time and knew that the key historical moment when he came should not be missed , &#8220;the President said.<br \/>\nThe Speaker of the Croatian Parliament commended the monument design and said it&nbsp; depicted&nbsp; faithfully the life and achievement of the first president of Croatia.&nbsp;<br \/>\n&#8220;President Tu\u0111man was one of the few statesmen successful in materialising their far-reaching ideas and vision and struggle for the state of Croatia.
