“CAF participation in international operations, NATO and EU forces” Conference

Commanders of all relevant organizational units of the Croatian Armed Forces, MOD department directors, and officials from the Office of the President attended on Wednesday, February 3, the “CAF participation in international operations, NATO and EU forces” Conference.

The aim of the conference, organized by the CAF General Staff,  was analysis and the representation of previous Croatian participation in international missions and operations, current status and future plans. The conference was opened and chaired by the Chief of General Staff General Josip Lucic.
The first part of the conference was about the participation of the Croatian Armed Forces in peacekeeping military operations in accordance with the LTDP, plans for participation in this year, the structuring of military forces for peacekeeping operations, selecting and preparing candidates for individual positions in IMO and current participation of the CAF in IMO. Particular emphasis was given to the 15th CAF contingent which was to be sent to the ISAF mission, and activities undertaken in preparation of the following contingents. The third part was dedicated to presentations on the implementation of the accepted force goals from the jurisdiction of CAF, CAF participation in the NATO Response Force (NRF) and the EU battle groups, on the inclusion of the CAF in the Quadrilateral military component, and participation in Multinational Military Police Battalion. The final part of the conference was related to the sending of members of Armed Forces to work in the NATO bodies and to the Military mission of the Republic of Croatia to NATO and EU.
