11th Croatian contingent in KFOR mission
The first part of the 11th Croatian contingent was sent today, November 16, to the NATO peace support operation KFOR (Kosovo Force) for a period of four months.
11th CAF contingent consists of 18 members of the Armed Forces, mostly from the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence and of the two Mi – 171 Sh transport helicopters. Commander of the 11th Croatian contingent in the KFOR operation is Major Andreas Duvnjak.
The farewell ceremony of the 11th Contingent for the KFOR mission in Kosovo, organized at the Lučko Air Base, was attended by the representative of the CAF Command Operations Centre Colonel Nikola Županić and representative of the Air Force and Air Defence Commander, Commander of the 91st Air Force Base Colonel Darko Brajković. In their addresses to members of the 11th Contingent, Colonels Županić and Brajković expressed great confidence in the contingent, based on the excellent results and the professional execution of duty of their predecessors, stressing their belief that members of the 11th HRVCON would continue to worthily represent Croatia in this peace support operation.
The fundamental task of the Croatian contingent in KFOR, which is deployed in the Bondsteel Camp in Ferizaj / Uroševac, is hauling people and cargo.
