15th HRVCON KFOR and 10th AAT complete pre-deployment training
The final evaluation of readiness held at the “Lučko” Barracks on 4 February 2014 closed the pre-deployment training of the 15th HRVCON KFOR and of the 10th Air Advisory Team designated for the mission in Afghanistan. The HRVCON will be deployed to KFOR to provide airlift of troops and cargo by Mi-171Sh helicopters, while the Air Advisory Team will be in charge of mentoring of pilots and technicians of the Afghanistan Air Force.
Previously, in the course of January 2014 the two contingents attended joint training in the 91st Croatian Air Force and Air Defence Base, located at the «Pukovnik Marko Živković» Barracks near Zagreb and at the nearby outdoor locations, which encompassed mastering basic skills such as the handling of personal firearms, administering first aid, the international law of war and the habitual visit to the Islamic Centre in Zagreb with a lecture on Islamic cultural and religious customs by the imam, eff. Mirza Mešić.
The joint training completed, the two Contingents are following separate training programmes, which for the 10th Air Advisory Team was organised at the 93rd Air Base (“Zemunik”).
