16th anniversary of the death of Colonel Rudolf Peresin

By laying wreath and lighting candles on the memorial at the Mirogoj cemetery, a delegation of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence (HRZ i PZO) marked the 16th anniversary of the death of the Air Force and Air Defence pilot Colonel Rudolf Peresin that in 1995 was killed during the execution of combat mission in the “Flash” military-police operation.

With the delegation of the Air Force and Air Defence, the anniversary of the death of the pilot Peresin attended his family. Pilot Rudolf Peresin was killed during a military operation “Flash”, after the enemy forces, on 2 May 1995, shot down his MiG-21. His remains were returned to Croatia on 4 August 1997, and on 15 September 1997 he was buried at City Cemetery Mirogoj in Zagreb. Rudolf Peresin died as commander of 21st Squadron of fighter planes of the 91st Pleso Air Base. He participated in all combat operations. He was awarded with the Order of Prince Domagoj with Necklace, Order of Nikola Subic Zrinski, Order of the Ban Jelacic, Order of Peter Zrinski and Fran Krsto Frankopan with gilding, Order of Stjepan Radic, Homeland War Memorial and Homeland Gratitude Memorial for 5 years. He is the holder of the medal for “extraordinary undertakings” and “Flash” medal.
