16th HRVCON returned from ISAF
16th Croatian contingent returned to Croatia from the ISAF operation in Afghanistan, on Monday, March 21. Members of the 16th HRVCON were welcomed at Pleso Airport in Zagreb by the Deputy Chief of General Staff for Plans and Resources Lieutenant General Slavko Baric, and Deputy Chief of General Staff for Operations Rear Admiral Zdenko Simicic, Commander of the Command Operations Centre Brigadier General Vlado Sindler and Commander of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence Major General Vlado Bagaric.
When addressing the aligned members of the Contingent, Lieutenant General Slavko Baric welcomed them on behalf of the Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces and President of the Republic of Croatia, Ivo Josipovic, Minister of Defence Davor Bozinovic and on behalf of the Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Drago Lovric. “The task you performed was not easy, but the high level of professionalism with which you perform this task is a further contribution to the reputation of the CAF and the Republic of Croatia as a NATO member”, General Baric said.
Commander of the 16th HRVCON Navy Captain Marileo Stanicic in his address said that he was particularly honoured to be commander of the contingent, and that all scheduled tasks were successfully completed.
