19th Anniversary of 2nd Guard Brigade “Gromovi”

The 19th  anniversary of the 2nd Guard Brigade, 2nd Mechanized Battalion “Gromovi” was marked in the “Pukovnik Predrag Matanovic” Barracks in Petrinja on Friday, May 14.

The ceremony was attended by the Guard Motorised Brigade Commander Brigadier General Mladen Fuzul, Deputy Commander of the 2nd Mechanized Battalion “Gromovi” Captain Igor Gojmerac, commanders of subordinate units, and representatives of associations from the Homeland war.
Holy Mass led by don Milenko Majic was held in the military chapel of St. Elias the Prophet. After the service, the present were welcomed by Brigadier General Mladen Fuzul, who highlighted contributions of members of the 2nd Guard Brigade in the Homeland war. He recalled the successful tasks done in the UNDOF UN mission on the Golan Heights, and the ISAF mission in Afghanistan, stressing that Croatia is a reliable partner of NATO.
Deputy Commander of the 2nd Mechanized Battalion “Gromovi” Captain Igor Gojmerac talked on the history of the 2nd Guard Brigade.
201 member of the “Gromovi” was killed, 7 were missing and 1200 injured during the Homeland war.
