1şt HRVCON returns from UNIFIL

Alongside with family members and unit members the ceremony was attended by the  Commander of the Croatian Army Major General Siniša Jurković,by the Commander of the Alpine Brigade of the Italian Army (Esercito) Brigadier General Paolo Fabbri, by the Deputy Commander of the Croatian Army Brigadier General Boris Šerić, representatives of the HV units and the Italian Land Force, representatives of the MUP and others.

The contingent was deployed in April 2018, composed mostly by the members included Satni for general engineering support under the Combat Support Battalion under the command of Italian Colonel Marc Arcule, who also attended the reception. Most of the flames were made by members of the Italian brigade of Julia, and with the Croatian contingent there were members of the Hungarian and Austrian armed forces.
In addition to engineering tasks in support to UNIFIL, the Croatian contingent was also providing assistance to the local civilian community and took part in international exercises and training.

In addition to the engineering tasks of UNIFIL mission units and staff, the Croatian contingent also carried out the tasks of assisting the local civilian community and participating in international exercises and training.

Welcoming the Contingent back on behalf of the Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister and of the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces Major General Jurković said that ithe Contingent had fulfilled all assigned tasks thanks to significant efforts of all members.

“Our expectations from you were high, as you served as soldiers and as ambassadors of the Republic of Croatia and of the Croatian Armed Forces. You performed all engineer tasks and most importantly contributed to the world peace”.
 
Brig. General Fabbri, the Commander of the Brigade, said the Battalion acted as a multinational unit and fulfilled a number of tasks in Lebanon. “I have seen a great unit, superb soldiers and people. I’m very proud of all of you and I congratulate you on your accomplishments“. 
The Commander of the 1st Croatian Contingent, Major Zeljko Javorović stressed that Croatian soldiers in UNIFIL received a series of acknowledgments and praise and showed much knowledge and expertise. He extended appreciation to all members of the Contingent for their professionalism and commitment for to contributed to the mission and for the benefit of the civilian population in Lebanon.

The ceremony featured a presentation of commendations and awards to the meriting members of the Contingent and a performance by the Sinfonietta orchestra of the Karlovac Music School.
   
The 52-member Contingent is mostly composed of members of the Engineer Regiment of the Croatian Army, and was commanded by Major Željko Javorović.
