4th HRVCON sent-off to “Resolute Support“

      
The formal send-off ceremony for the 4 thHRVCON to ”Resolute Support” was held in the
“Pukovnik Marko Živković” Barracks at Pleso on 29 February 2016. 

The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Defence Tomislav Ivic, the Chief of General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, General Drago Lovric, the Chief Defence Inspector, Lieutenant General Mirko Šundov, Deputy Chief of General Staff , Lieutenant General Dragutin Repinc, the Director Military Security Intelligence Service, Brigadier General Ivica Kinder, the commanders of the services of the Croatian Armed Forces and of the Support Command.
Addressing the members of the Contingent the Deputy Defence Minister Tomislav Ivić told them to bear in mind their mission as emissaries and the visibility of the Croatian flag strap worn proudly on their uniforms. Deputy Minister called on to them to carry out the  honourable mission proudly and demonstrate exemplary conduct towards the local population, the Allied and partner forces just as the former contingents did.
In his address to the Contingent General Drago Lovrić as the departing Chief of the General Staff underlined the importance of the participation of the Croatian Armed Forces in peace support operations.  
“The experience of operation in an international environment will be your new incitement and set new challenges before you. I am confident that you will respond to them and fulfill your tasks competently“, said General Lovrić.
The Commander of the 4th HRVCON, Colonel Mato Matanović, stressed that the Contingent had completed a cycle of demanding preparations and that it was composed of top-prepared members of the Croatian Armed Forces.
The 4th HRVCON to “Resolute Support” comprises  97 members (75 members of the Croatian Armed Forces, and 22 members of the A-5 initiative nations – 17 members of the Army of Montenegro, two members of the Albanian Armed Forces, two members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and one member of the Army of Macedonia).
