5th anniversary of the Motorized Brigade

The fifth anniversary of establishing of the Guards Motorized Brigade was celebrated in Knin today, April 6.

The ceremony, inter alia, was attended by the Defence Minister Ante Kotromanović, Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Drago Lovrić, Commander of the Army Major General Dragutin Repinc, Motorized Brigade Commander Brigadier General Mladen Fuzul, representatives of counties and cities, veterans associations, members of the Motorized Brigade, as well as former members of Guard units – 1.gbr, 9.gbr, 4.gbr and 2.gbr which successor is the Motorized Brigade.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Kotromanović recalled the famous Guards Brigades, by which merger Motorized Brigade was formed. “Then when it was difficult, they were not giving up. Keep their bright and glorious tradition, and be appropriate and proud soldiers of the Croatian Armed Forces”, Kotromanovic said to members of the Motorized Brigade.

Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Drago Lovrić congratulated the members of the Motorized Brigade their anniversary and announced further modernization of Croatian Armed Forces, while the Brigade Commander Brigadier General Mladen Fuzul, after the recently completed successful certification, announced new engagements for the European Battle Groups in which would also participate Patria armoured vehicles.

Minister Kotromanović, Lieutenant General Drago Lovrić, Major General Dragutin Repinc and Brigadier General Mladen Fuzul jointly laid wreaths and lit candles at the monument “Oluja 95” in Knin.
