7th military-diplomatic corps championship in shooting

7th championship of military-diplomatic corps (VDZ) in shooting, in which contestants used Croatian assault rifle VHS-D was held today, April 8, on automatic shooting ground “Vrapcanski potok”. The championship was also attended by State Secretary of Ministry of Defence Pjer Simunovic.

This is the second time that in the championships of military-diplomatic corps Croatian assault rifle has been used. Unlike the last championship when it was used a short-barrelled rifle, this time shooters used long barrels. According to Navy Commander Francois Buj from the MOD International Defence Cooperation Department, the aim of championship was not only a priority of VDZ conditioning, but also presentation of Croatian rifle which, until now, has attracted great public attention.
VDZ members who have participated in the championship shot from the prone position, by firing 20 shots at a circular target that was 200 meters away.
The best in this championship was brigadier Dargos Milankovic from BiH, with a score of 140 points. With just one point less, on second place, was Colonel Mahdi Mohebbi from Iran, while third place went to warrant officer Peter Simmer from Austria, with 138 points.
VDZ at the end thanked Commander of the “Vrapacanski potok” shooting ground, Colonel Kresimir Vrancic, for the professionally organized shooting, while handing him a medal of Military Attaché Club of Zagreb.
