8th generation of voluntary conscripts in Požega

8th generation of voluntary conscripts started with their voluntary service on Friday, 27 April 2012, in Požega barracks.

In the eighth generation of voluntary conscripts training will undergo the greatest number of candidates so far, total of 400 candidates, including 360 males and 40 females. Upon arrival at the military service, voluntary conscripts will sign an agreement with the Ministry of Defence which regulates the mutual rights and obligations.

Voluntary military service lasts for 8 weeks and includes the conduct of basic and specialist infantry training in Požega. During the voluntary military service, in accordance with the Rules amending the Rules of voluntary military service (Official Gazette 29/12), for conscripts is provided monthly cash compensation in the amount of approximately 1.200,00 kuna, and the reimbursement of travel expenses for coming to service and departure, basic and supplemental health insurance, injuries and occupational diseases, and accommodation and food.

Upon successful completion of training and according to the needs of the Armed Forces, in accordance with the results achieved during the training, selected conscripts may be offered the opportunity to sign the Contract on training for active soldiers and the training for officers, by which they acquire the status of active military personnel.

Cycle training of voluntary conscripts typically includes two generations per year, i.e. in spring and autumn.

Throughout the past seven generations of voluntary conscripts until now, the training program ended 1781 conscripts, of whom 1579 men and 202 women.

Also, the Defense Ministry since 2008 until today signed a contract on admission to active military service with 1138 persons who completed voluntary military service, of which 1016 soldiers and 122 officers.
