9th anniversary of the Support Command was marked today, 15 November 2011, in “Satnik Josip Zidar” barracks, in Velika Buna.
The celebration was attended by representative of the Minister of Defence, MOD State Secretary Mate Raboteg, Chief of Armed Forces Lieutenant General Drago Lovric, Commander of Army Major General Dragutin Repinc, Support Command Commander Maj. Gen. Mate Ostović and other officials of the MOD and CAF.

Raboteg stressed the success of the logistics system in the Homeland war and in the process of joining NATO, as well as complex tasks that Command does today. “You have imposed high standards yourself, particularly in cooperation with our allies. You have fully adopted and applied the concept of host nation support and in ISAF you have built a strong supporting element. In the country your support is reflected in numerous assisting activities, as to the armed forces, so to the civilian population”, Raboteg concluded.
Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Lovric reminded that this year marks the ninth anniversary of the establishing of the Support Command, and 20th anniversary of the Armed Forces Logistics. Speaking about the role of the Support Command in international operations, Lovric said that logistics were now represented by the CAF in the best light, and he was confident that it will be so in the future. Speaking about the future, general Lovric said that the Croatian membership in the European Union will set the Command the new tasks and need to adapt, particularly regarding the participation in the EU battle groups.
Commander of Support Command, Major General Mate Ostovic said that today Command was the largest logistics organization in the Armed Forces, not only by the number of personnel, but also in overall capabilities. By naming just few, the General said that the Command in 2011 managed to carry out all planned activities and tasks. All successes were achieved mainly thanks to its employees, the General concluded.
