9th Croatian contingent in the KFOR mission

The first part of the 9th Croatian contingent was sent for the period of four months to NATO KFOR peace support operation in Kosovo today, 15 March 2012.

9th Contingent consists of 20 members of the Armed Forces, the majority from the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence with two Mi – 171 Sh transport helicopters. Commander of the 9th HRVCON in the KFOR operation is Major Saša Crnec.

For the first time in Croatian contingent there is one woman, Sergeant from the Support Command, which will be engaged as logistics NCO in the National Support Element.

The farewell ceremony was attended by the Commander of the Operational Command Centre Brigadier General Vlado Šindler and Commander of the 91st Air Force Base, Colonel Darko Brajković.

Croatian contingent in the KFOR mission consists of three helicopter crews, aircraft-technical team, national support element and two Mi-171Sh transport helicopters. The basic task is hauling people and cargo, and they will be deployed in the ​​ Bondsteel Camp in Ferizaj / Uroševac.

The rest of the 9th Contingent will be sent the following days.
