Agreement on legal status RACVIAC signed
On the 23rd MAG RACVIAC (MAG – Multinational Advisory Group) meeting held on April 14 in Becici in Montenegro, eight country members of SEECP (South Eastern Europe Cooperation Process) signed an agreement on the legal status of RACVIAC, which ended the process of reorganization and modernization of the organization from the Regional Centre for help in verification and implementation of arms control to a legal successor named RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation.
Signatory countries are: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Greece, Montenegro, Serbia and Turkey.
Countries signatories have once again confirmed their responsibility and duty to encourage and maintain dialogue and cooperation on security issues in Southeast Europe through a partnership with each other, taking into account the ongoing development and changes in the security environment in Southeast Europe.
Today RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation is the only international, diplomatic, independent and non-profit academic organization of regional property situated in Croatia, which organizes various seminars in the field of security for military and civilian representatives (civilian experts, parliamentarians and academics) from countries of South Eastern Europe. Through a wide range of topics that RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation covers, RACVIAC particularly emphasizes the cooperation and communication with relevant bodies and institutions with a focus on Euro-Atlantic integration.
On the signing of the agreement, the Republic of Croatia was represented by representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Euro-Atlantic integration.
