Fifth generation of voluntary conscripts started military service

Fifth generation of voluntary conscripts started military service in barracks in Pozega, on Friday, 24 September 2010. 250 candidates, of whom 220 males and 30 females, will undergo training. According to Regulations on voluntary military service (Official Gazette 70/08, 97/09) privates will also, on Friday, September 24, sign a contract governing the mutual rights and obligations in the Ministry of Defence.

Voluntary military service lasts for 8 weeks and includes the implementation of basic and specialist infantry training in Pozega.

During voluntary military service, conscripts are provided monthly with cash benefits in the amount of 2660.00 kunas, reimbursement of travel expenses for the arrival and departure, basic health insurance, insurance against work injuries and occupational diseases, and accommodation and meals.

Upon successful completion of the training and in accordance with the results achieved in the training, selected conscripts will be offered the possibility to sign the contract for active soldiers and on the training for officers, according to the needs of the Croatian Armed Forces in the future.

Through four generations of voluntary military service, 942 voluntary conscripts completed training program, of whom 831 men and 111 women. MOD has so far signed a contract with 452 voluntary conscripts, of which 416 soldiers and NCOs and 36 candidates for officers.
