Minister Krstičević inducted War College Hall of Fame

The Croatian Defence Minister Damir Krstičević graduated from the U.S. Army War College in 1998 and is the first senior Coatian officer to have been received into the College’s Hall of Fame. Minister Krstičević is also the first officer of the Croatian Armed Forces to have attended the education at this prestigious U.S. institution that prepares military and civilian officials for strategic-level command and management duties.

As many as 11 officers of the Croatian Armed Forces graduated from the U.S. A rmy War College, and presently there is one student officer in the Carlisle Barracks.
The induction procedure comprises nomination, approbation and formal induction rprocedure in the War College premises. The nomination itself is within the responsibility of the senior U.S. in-country representative responsible for the U.S. Security Assistance Program, or of the Combatant Commander of a U.S. unified or specified command.

The nomination letter is approved by the Ambassador or Chief of the U.S. Diplomatic Mission he original must explain in detail how the nominee qualifies for the nomination. The letter explains in detail how the nominee qualifies for the nomination, which has to comply woith the professiona, ethical and moral values of the U.S. Army-  The approval is obtained from the U.S. Army authorities (Chief of Staff) and the clearance from with the U.S. Department of Defense and the State Department . The final approval obtained, the nominee is invited to the induction ceremony in the Hall of Fame.

The photos and basic data on all international fellows acknowledged by the U.S. Army for their professional achievements are displayed in the hall of the War College.
The U.S. Army War College – the top-level education institution, was established in 1904 and was attended by top commanders and dignitaries (Dwight D. Eisenhower, George S. Patton and Omar Bradley, and top-level officers of the U.S. Army).

The College has some 80 international fellows – officers or civilian students – from the U.S. allies and partner countries worldwide.
The U.S. Army established the War College “Hall of Fame“ to provide a prestigious and visible means of honoring USAWC IF graduates who have attained, through military merit, the highest positions in their nation’s armed forces or an equivalent position in a multinational organisation.

As many as 65 international fellows of the War College have been honoured with the induction into the Hall of Fame, among whom the current president of Egypt, Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, the former Defence Minister of Australia, Duncan E. Lewis, the former Chairman of NATO’s Military Committee, General Knud Bartels (DK), and the current and former chiefs of defence of Canada, Italy, Hungary, Austria, Romania, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Norway, India and Columbia, to name some.
