PM Jadranka Kosor with CAF members in KFOR
Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor met on Wednesday, 24 August 2011, in Pristina with 20 members of the Croatian Armed Forces and three police officers involved in the peacekeeping mission in Kosovo and expressed satisfaction with their professionalism.
“Croatian soldiers in the KFOR mission are very disciplined and professional,” said the Commander of COMKFOR German General Erhard Buehler. “Everything that I heard at the KFOR headquarters makes me proud, happy and satisfied. I am particularly happy that our soldiers have been role models”, Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor said, who was in official visit to Kosovo, accompanied by the Defence Minister Davor Bozinovic and Minister of Economy Duro Popijac.
“The recent events in northern Kosovo have shown how necessary this operation is. We highly appreciate the efforts of KFOR to downsize the violence in the north”, PM added. PM Kosor stressed the importance of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, as “only fair dialogue can bring peace and stability”.
Kosor talked with 20 members of the Croatian Armed Forces and three police officers involved in the mission. Until now, total of 138 members of the Croatian Armed Forces together with two transport helicopters Mi-171Sh of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence have been deployed in the KFOR mission on Kosovo. 7th Croatian contingent within KFOR was deployed in the “Bondsteel” military base in Ferizaj/Urosevac, while the Croatian police officers were deployed on Kosovo as part of the EULEX mission.
