First Croatian Navy officer assigned on duty of logistical support in Atalanta Operation

First officer of the Croatian Navy who will serve as the logistical support in the Platoon of the German Naval Forces Lieutenant Junior Grade Tomislav Jadrić was sent on Monday, July 23, to the international operation of the European Union “EU NAVFOR SOMALIA-Atalanta”.

In addition to technical support of ships, the tasks of this Platoon is the provision of medical and personnel aid to German military personnel, aid to local government and the European Union military forces in Djibouti, etc.

Lieutenant Junior Grade Jadrić was born on 3 August 1973 in Split. He graduated on the electrical engineering from the Faculty of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and Shipbuilding in Split. He completed basic officer training in Parachute Training Centre, Damir Tomljenović – Gavran, and a course for the UN military observers. He is as member of the Armed Forces since 1991 and participant of the Homeland War, and a member of the Navy since 2001.

He held a range of duties in the Navy, and was currently assigned to the duty of officer for the maintenance of electronic systems in Split Naval Base.

In addition to Lieutenant Junior Grade Jadrić, three other Navy officers have been participating in the Atalanta Operation.

Members of the Armed Forces participate in the international military operation of the European Union “EU NAVFOR Somalia – Atalanta” in accordance with the Decision of the Croatian Parliament which allows up to five officers/NCOs to participate in aforementioned operation. Lieutenant Junior Grade Jadrić is the fourteenth consecutive Navy officer who participates in the European Union’s “Atalanta Operation”.
