Ministers Kotromanović, Matić and Ostojić published their wartime records

Solemn publication of the Register of Veterans of the Croatian Homeland War was held today, 19 December 2012, in the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Zagreb.

The Minister of Veterans Affairs Predrag Matić Fred activated the Register, which is available on the Internet through the link registar.branitelji.hr. Inter alia, the publication was attended by the Croatian President Ivo Josipović, Parliament Speaker Josip Leko, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić, Defence Minister Ante Kotromanović, Interior Minister Ranko Ostojić, and other ministers of the Government, Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Drago Lovrić and other military officials, as well as representatives of associations from the Homeland War.

Minister Matić stressed that the Register was the most honourable list in the history of the Republic of Croatia and the names published in it are the foundation of modern Croatia. He stressed that the Register is published with appropriate consultation and cooperation with the defence and security state bodies and institutions. The present were also addressed by Minister Kotromanović and Interior Minister Ranko Ostojić, who, along with Minister Matić, published their all data listed in the Register.

Register of the Croatian Veterans contains general and special part, where the general element contains the name and surname, the name of one of the parents, date and place of birth, number of days spent in the Homeland War, combat or non-combat sector affiliation, and data whether one was member of the MOI or MOD. Special part contains information on the wartime records. The Consent Form to release the wartime records of an individual is available on the official website of the Ministry (www.branitelji.hr), which upon filling will require the certification of the public notary and submission to the Ministry of Veterans.
