“TIGAR 14” BGMP Exercise conducted at the Slunj Training Range

The live-fire tactical exercise titled „Tigar 14“, conducted in the „Eugen Kvaternik“ Training Range near Slunj on 5 June, was a training event for the Mechanised Infantry Combat Group, a Task Force established in compliance with the L1501 Capability Goal.

The Exercise was organised by the Motorised Guards Brigade of the Croatian Army, whose 1st Mechanised Battalion is the backbone of the Group, which has been augmented with the Artillery and Rocket Bn, the Engineer Bn, the Reconnaissance Coy, the Air Defence Bn of the Brigade, as well as with other elements from other Armed Forces units (a PSYOPS and a CIMIC team respectively and a support unit (of the Support Command). 
The Exercise was structured around a simulated attack involving synchronised inter-branch operation, integrated fires and strikes against enemy troops alignment.

The assets utilised included AMVs „Patria“, D-30,  SVLR and GRAD howitzers, the 120 mm mortars, the FAGOT and RPG anti-armour systems. The Exercise Director was Colonel Tihomir Kundid, and the Mechanised Infantry Combat Group is commanded by Major Zdenko Fiala.
