Three weekend interventions for Croatian military helicopter crews

The Trasport Helicopter Squadron of the 93rd Croatian Air Force and Air Defence Base conducted three search and rescue missions during the weekend period 8-10 August, the first one involving the search for a missing Polish tourist lost in the Biokovo mountain area on Saturday 9 August, with a Mi-8MTV.

The search has been going on for several days, with  the participation of  tens of members of the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service, transported and supported by the Squadron’s, whose crews logged six flight hours performing aerial search and transportation support.
Flying a helicopter and assisted by the Coast Guard crew on PC-9M and by four members of the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service, the crews took part in another intervention on Saturday too, upon the return from the previous one, to search for a missing Croatian diver in the Vis aquatorium, the Pakleni otoci near Hvar, the Pelegrin Promontory and in the south coast of the islands of Hvar and Palagruža and the north coasts of the islands of Korčula and Lastovo. The teams continue searching.
 
The third intervention was successfully completed on Sunday 10 August, with the rescue of an injured Croatian mountain hiker from the peak Veliki Kabal in Mosor mountain, who was transported to the University Hospital Centre in Split. The intervention also saw the participation of  six members of the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service.  It has been the fourteenth intervention of the kind in the current year.
