“Mir 15/1” EXE in Gašinci
The international military exercise “MIR 15/1”, was held in the Gašinci Training Range as a final readiness evaluation event for the 2nd Croatian Contingent (2 HRVCON RSM) to deployed to the Resolute Support Mission in March 2015.
The Croatian components were joined by members of the armed forces of the A-5 countries (Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia).
They conducted tasks required for the mission in Afghanistan, monitored by the CAF General Staff’s Evaluator Team who is administering the NATO CREVAL System.
“The Exercise is conducted in two phases – the “in-barracks“ and the “in-fields“ phase, said the EXE Officer, the Commander of the Guards Mechanised Brigade, Brigadier General Siniša Jurković, who stressed that the Contingent includes the members of the A-5 Initiative Armed Forces, which is of significant importance for their future co-operation.
The Head of the Evaluator Team of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Foces, Colonel Mijo Kožić, said that the 72-hour exercise was conducted to assess the combat readiness of the Contingent. It has demonstrated a high level of readiness and preparedness in this first part, and we expect the same for the second too.
The members of the Guards Mechanised Brigade deserve commendation as the Exercise organisers, and the rest of the Contingent have also performed well, and in adverse weather conditions.
“The Exercise is running as planned. Following the training that engaged them for over three months, the Contingent components are now ready to deal with any scenario and incidents“, concluded the Commander of the 2nd HRVCON RSM, Colonel Stanko Paradžiković.
