Minister Kotromanović receives in visit Polish Minister (Deputy PM)

The Croatian Defence Minister,  Ante Kotromanović and his delegation on 18 March 2015 received in visit the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Poland,  Tomasz Siemoniak,  during his offiicial visit to the  Republic of Croatia.

Minister Kotromanović  expressed his condolences to the Polish Ally for the tragic loss of Polish citzens in the terrorist attack in Tunisia on Thursday 19 March, and stated that the Republic of Croata most vehemently condemned the act, which illustrated the proximity of the new security challenges, calling for joint efforts towards safety.
Thetwo sides appreciated the  years-long friendly  relations between the two countries, evident in the rich bilateral co-operation particularly between special forces, military police forces and the NATO commands and  centres of excellence.
Minister Kotromanović stressed that Poland, as a respectable NATO and EU nation was also a key partner to Croatia in the mission of building Europea security. The two sides agreed on further co-operation focussed on key defence capabilities of the respective armed forces.
Among the conclusions of the meeting was well-agreed standpoint on the current security threats in the Euro-Atlantic area, the Alliance’s adaptation to them and the Readiness Action Plan. Minister Kotromanović highlighted the upcoming NATO Summit to be hosted by Poland as crucial for its future development, as well as the meeting of the Eropean Council with important decisions related to European defence, including the future EU-NATO co-operation .
The Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Poland, Tomasz Siemoniak appreciated the invitation to visit Croatia and the condolences extended by the Croatian Minister for the loss of Polish citizens in Tunisia. He welcomed the ongoing good bilateral co-operation and partnership with, as he said, Poland’s strategic partner in the region, NATO and the EU, where both countries advocate the open door policy and admission of Macedonia and Montenegro to NATO.
