ACAST-LCC Conference 2010 – Briefing for media

Upon completion of the Conference of the army commanders of NATO countries which took place on 16 and 17 June 2010 in Zagreb, organized by the Allied Forces Command Madrid, Commander of Allied Forces Command Madrid Lieutenant General Alfredo Cardona Torres and the Croatian Army Commander Lieutenant General Mladen Kruljac gave statements to the media.

In his address to media, Lieutenant General Torres said that a huge work for military commanders was yet to come because this was the beginning of a new reorganization of NATO. “We need to wait for approval of a new strategic concept and then we will have a lot of work to adapt to it”, Torres said. Speaking of his Croatian colleagues, the General said that as commander of the Allied Forces Command Madrid he carefully considered integration of the Croatian Armed Forces to NATO and that he thought that members of the Croatian Armed Forces were doing a very good and professional work.
“Organization of the Conference was challenging and a great test for the Croatian Armed Forces and the Croatian Army, as it was the largest gathering of its kind”, Army Commander Lieutenant General Kruljac said.
