Air Force participated in extinguishing of six fires

Over the weekend, from 8 to 10 April 2011, fire crews of Fire-fighting squadron (PP) and Squadron of transport helicopters (ETH) of the 93^rd Air Force Base of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence participated in the extinguishing of six fires.

In Sibenik-Knin County PP and ETH crews were involved in fire extinguishing in Ervenik with three Canadair and one Air Tractor, on the fire site near Knin fortress with two Canadair aircraft, while in the area near Kozjak they participated with two Canadair aircraft and one Air Tractor, and on the island of Zut with one Canadair.
In Split-Dalmatia County PP and ETH crews were engaged in Vrboska and Jelsa on the island of Hvar with one Canadair, Air Tractor and one MI-8 MTV helicopter.
Fire-fighting forces over the weekend spent 48 hours in the air and dropped over 1200 tons of water on fire areas.
