Airborne landing in “Immediate Response 19”

The ongoing international military exercise “Immediate Response 19” featured an airborne landing of the U.S: participants in the Training Range “Eugen Kvaternik” near Slunj on 18 May 2019.

Acoording to the planned scenario, having seized the kea area in the Barracks “Josip Jović” near Udbina on 17 May 2019, the Italian special forces reconnaissance unit was inserted into theTraining Range “Eugen Kvaternik” near Slunj, tasked with collection of intellience on the size and deployment of the enemy forces.

 
On 18 May  2019 godine, the U.S. 1st Airborne Brifade continued the operation by conducting  airborne landing from the “Josip Jović” Barracks into the Training Range “Eugen Kvaternik” with four CH-47 Chinook and eight UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters.

 

The airborne landing was carried out in  four  runs, each executed in two waves by two CH-47 Chinooks and four UH-60 Black Hawks. 

Within a 4-hours timeframe over 400 members of the 173rd Airborne Brigade and a large contingent of equipment  and light assault vehicles (suspended below the CH-47 Chinooks) were dropped.
