Analysis of 2010 fire-fighting season

The analysis of 2010 fire-fighting season was held in Fire-fighting Task Force Command in “Knez Trpimir” Barracks in Divulje on October 28.
The analysis was attended by representatives of the Croatian Armed Forces, led by Deputy Chief of General Staff for Operations Rear Admiral Zdenko Simicic, Chairman of the Croatian Fire-fighting Community Ante Sanader, and Assistant Chief Fire-fighting Commander for Coastal Area Tomislav Vukovic and seven coastal county fire-fighting commanders.

FF Task Force Commander Major General Mate Obradovic stressed that the CAF Task Force was engaged in fire fighting activities for 90 times, while the Air Force had 1299 flying hours. He also said that all the tasks in 2010 fire-fighting season were addressed promptly and efficiently.

Deputy Chief of General Staff Rear Admiral Zdenko Simicic also addressed the present expressing his satisfaction with the cooperation with coastal county fire-fighting commanders.

Assistant Chief Fire-fighting Commander for Coastal Area Tomislav Vuko in his address stressed that he was extremely pleased with this year’s fire-fighting season. “This is one of the best years”, Vuko said.

According to the Government Program on MOD and CAF Fire-fighting Activities (Official Gazette 03/10), a CAF Fire-fighting Task Force has been established from units of Army, Croatian Air Force and Air Defence, Croatian Navy and Special Operations Battalion. For this year’s fire-fighting season, which started on May 1  and lasts until October 31,  6 CL-415 aircraft, 6 AT-802 A / F aircraft, 4 Mi-8 MTV-1 and 1 Bell 206B helicopters, 1 Pilatus PC-9 and 1 An-32 aircraft were engaged.
