Annual Defence Minister’s Reception for Military Diplomatic Corps

The Croatian Defence Academy «Petar Zrinski» on Tuesday, 10 December 2013 hosted the Defence Minister’s traditional annual briefing and reception for the members of the Military Diplomatic Corps accredited to the Republic of Croatia, attended also by the Deputy Defence Minister, Ms Višnja Tafra, the Director of the Academy, Lt. Gen. Slavko Barić and other senior officials of the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces.

“The year 2013 has been for us a year of stabilisation and advancement, and in the upcoming year we shall courageously and resolutely proceed with the necessary reforms, guided by the new legislation in force“, said the Minister, and also stressed that along with the reforms and a series of projects announced, ISAF remains the main endeavour for the Croatian Armed Forces.
 
“It is very important for us at this moment to maintain excellent co-operation with you and your countries. The Republic of Croatia has co-worked very successfully on several projects with the NATO countries in our neighbourhood“, stated the Minister. He also extended his best season’s greetings to the attachés and their families.

The Military Attaché of the Czech Republic, Col. Milan Polak, the doyen of the Military Diplomatic Corps addressed the attendees on its behalf, extending the appreciation to the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff for the hospitality and support provided in the current year. Col. Polak stated that „the year 2013 has been significant for all citizens and the Republic of Croatia in general as the historic year of its entry into the European Union, which has opened many opportunities in the domain of defence as well“.
