Armistice Day commemorated

The Armistice Day (the end of the World War I) was commemorated on 11 Saturday 2017 by laying wreaths at the monuments dedicated to the Italian, French, the Croatian soldiers fallen in the World War I and at the monument in the German war graveyard by the Envoy of the Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, State Secretary for Defence Zdravko Jakop.

The Armistice Day was traditionally commemorated by the representatives of embassies of the French Republic, the Italian Republic, the Federal Republic of Germany, the United Kingdom and Canada to the Republic of Croatia, accompanied by the members of the Croatian Armed Forces Orchestra and of the Honour Guard Battalion.

The delegation of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Croatia headed by the State Secretary for Defence Zdravko Jakop and the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs headed by Assistant Minister Zrinka Ujević, paid respects on the tomb of the first President of the Republic of Croatia Franjo Tuđman.
