August 5 officially celebrated in Afghanistan

Victory and Homeland Gratitude Day, Day of Croatian Veterans and 16th Anniversary of “Storm Operation” was solemnly celebrated in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan, in “Cobra-Warehouse” in Kabul, and “Marmal” and “Croatia” – Mike Spann at Mazar-e-Sharif camps, where 17th HRVCON members have been deployed.

The ceremony in camp “Croatia” – Mike Spann began by the holy mass led by a military chaplain Branimir Projic and continued by line-up of all components of the 17th HRVCON in their area of ​​deployment, where they have been read congratulations sent from Homeland and commends and awards given.
The Commander of the 17th HRVCON Colonel Blaz Beretin also addressed members of the “Croatia” – Mike Spann and Marmal camps, who referred to the events 16 years ago and the role of the Croatian Army and Croatian soldiers in the implementation of the “Storm Operation”. The ceremony at the Croatian camps was attended by many representatives of the Afghan National Army, representatives of the ISAF Joint Command, ISAF regional commands and by representatives of other nations participating in ISAF.

Celebration in Croatian camps was an opportunity for the traditional NATO ISAF medal delivery to members of the 17th HRVCON for their participation in the ISAF operation in Afghanistan.
