Border-area meeting of Chiefs of General Staffs of CAF and the Army of Montenegro

Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, General Drago Lovrić met with the Montenegrin counterpart, Vice-admiral Dragan Samardžić in Tivat, Montenegro on 10 April 2014.

During the meeting the two sides analysed the bilateral military co-operation, education of the members of the Army of Montenegro in Croatia, joint training events and participation in international operations, primarily ISAF.
Also discussed was the regional co-operation within the Balkan Regional Approach to Air Defence (BRAAD) Initiative, the co-operation of the two Navies and Coast Guards respectively, in the context of protection of the Adriatic sea from ecological incidents. The two sides praised the significance and the quality of the bilateral co-operation so far, and the co-operation within the U.S.-Adriatic Charter.

The Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces was accompanied by the Croatian Navy Chief of Staff, Commodore Predrag Stipanović, Deputy Head of the Planning Directorate of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, Colonel Darko Bijuklić and the Aide-de-Camp to the Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Col. Emilio Turina.
