Bozinovic signed agreements with the shooting and hunting associations
Minister of Defence Davor Bozinovic signed today, Friday, 13 May 2011, in facility of automated shooting ground “Vrapčanski potok”, two agreements – Agreement on Cooperation of Ministry of Defence, Croatian Shooting Federation and the Croatian Olympic Committee and Agreement on cooperation of the Ministry of Defence and the Croatian Hunting Association.
On behalf of the Croatian Shooting Federation, the Agreement on joint use of automated shooting ground (AS) “Vrapcanski potok” was signed by President Petar Radakovic, and on behalf of the Croatian Olympic Committee by President Zlatko Matesa. This Agreement establishes the possibility of using AS “Vrapcanski potok” managed by the Ministry of Defence, for the needs of shooting sports, through the training of members of shooting associations and for the organization of international and national shooting competitions.
Agreement on mutual cooperation that enabled Croatian Hunting Association the use of military training ranges and shooting ranges held by the MOD and the Croatian Armed Forces, and implementing programs for the protection of wildlife on the military training grounds and other areas administered by the Ministry of Defence was signed on behalf of the Association by its President Djuro Decak.
In a media statement Minister Bozinovic expressed his satisfaction with the signed agreements, adding that cooperation between the MOD and the shooting and hunting associations and with the Croatian Olympic Committee was mutually beneficial and reflected the will and desire for “Vrapcanski potok” to be used for shooting and hunting associations needs. “Ministry of Defence in this way, through its capacity on Automated Shooting Range “Vrapcanski potok” creates the conditions for preparing Croatian shooters and hunters for competitions, and the MOD in the future will continue cooperation with civil institutions that are engaged in similar activities. He also pointed out that the cooperation of the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces with civilian organizations is a common practice in the NATO member countries and the same will be followed by Croatia.
President of the Croatian Shooting Federation Peter Radakovic in his address stressed that he was extremely pleased with the cooperation between MOD and Croatian Shooting Federation. “This agreement is proof of successful cooperation that will continue in the future”, Radakovic said.
President of the Croatian Hunting Association Djuro Decak thanked the MOD and the Croatian Armed Forces for enabling the Hunting Association to use military training ranges, shooting range and training grounds, stressing that till now they had not had the conditions for taking professional hunting exams, which are standard in the European Union countries. “Croatian Hunting Association with its expertise can help in taking care on the wildlife, especially on the game”, Decak said.
“With today’s agreement MOD and the Armed Forces showed once again that support not only sports shooting, but sport in general”, President of the Croatian Olympic Committee Zlatko Matesa said. He also pointed out that top athletes have only positive experiences in the use of military sports facilities for the preparation for international competitions.
