Bozinovic visited German combat aircraft base
As part of the bilateral visit to Germany, MOD delegation led by Defence Minister Davor Bozinovic visited today, Wednesday, 29 June 2011, the German 71st Air Base of fighter squadron “Richthofen” in Wittmund, where F-4 Phantom have been based.
During the visit, the delegation of the Ministry of Defence got familiar with the ways of the operational use of this combat aircraft, aircraft maintenance processes, infrastructure, and the ways and possibilities of training and certifying of staff and pilots.
Also, according to talks of German and Croatian Minister of Defence on intensifying cooperation on military-technical field, it was agreed to form an expert team who would in future consider the possibility of using this fighter aircraft.
The German base “Richthofen” in Wittmund is the Centre of NATO rapid response force within the NATO Integrated Air Defence System.
