Brig. Gen. Roman Fischer receives “Order of Croatian Trefoil“

Pursuant to the respective Decision of the President of the Republic of Croatia as Supreme Commander of the Croatian Armed Forces of 6 June 2016, the Croatian Defence Minister Josip Buljević conferred the “Order of the Croatian Trefoil“ on the Defence Attaché of the Republic of Austria to the Republic of Croatia, Brigadier General Roman Fischer for the outstanding contribution to the development of the bilateral defence co-operation. 

Defence Ministar stressed that Brigadier General Fischer made an remarkable job maintaining the productive defence co-operation between  the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Croatia and the Austrian Federal Ministry of National Defence and Sport. 

“During that period the two ministries signed the Memorandum of the EU Mountain Warfare Initiative and Croatia and Austria contributed to the enhanced EU capacities of response to the current security threats. It all forged a highly substantive and privileged partnership. I am taking the opportunity to appreciate Brigadier General Fischer for the excellent service in the capacity of the doyen of the Military Diplomatic Corps from June 2014 to June 2016“,  said the Minister. 

Brig. Gen. Fischer appreciated the honour of receiving the decoration and expressed satisfaction over the four-year co-operation with the Ministry of Defence and his stay in Croatia. 

The award ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister Tomislav Ivić, the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, General Mirko Šundov, the Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Nikola Brzica and  the staff of the Ministry of Defence.
