Cadets gave oath at Knin Fortress
The eighth generation of cadets of the Officer’s School of the Croatian Military Academy gave a solemn oath by which they became members of the Croatian Armed Forces on Saturday, November 13, on the Knin Fortress.
In the presence of military and civilian officials, as well as their parents, relatives and friends, 74 cadets sworn in, of which 15 women, who have been educated at the University of Zagreb and Split. Envoy of the Minister of Defence, MOD State Secretary Mate Raboteg and Director of the Croatian Military Academy, Major General Mirko Sundov congratulated the cadets.
In his address to the cadets MOD Secretary of State Raboteg stressed the importance of the military profession and the need for qualified and competent officers and NCOs in the CAF. “You represent not only yourselves but also your Homeland wherever you are, you are representatives of the victorious army”, MOD State Secretary said in his speech. When congratulating on the given oath General Sundov noted that the cadets had more options at their choice, but they have chosen program of civil-military education, on which the General congratulated them and expressed his support for further acquisition of new knowledge and skills at the university and in the CAF.
Before the ceremony, cadets were introduced with the CAF services, so on November 11 they visited 93rd Airbase in Zemunik near Zadar, where they met with the tasks of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence. They also visited the Croatian Navy and “Faust Vrancic” ship “, and Guard Motorized Brigade in Knin.
